Track 1. Cannabis:

Cannabis refers to a group of three plants with psychoactive properties known as Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis. Cannabis a drug derived from the family of plants that includes hemp. Cannabis can be smoked or eaten. Use of cannabis produces a mild sense of euphoria, as well as impairments in judgment and lengthened response time.

The Hemp Science focuses on the development of specific skills to understand plant breeding and genetics; hydroponic and field crop production; processing; food, fiber and medicinal applications; and product development. Hemp, cannabis plant cultivated for its useful bast fiber and nutritious edible seeds.

Track 3. Bioengineering of Cannabis:

Cannabis bioengineering generally involves the use of genetic modifications to scale up the production process of cannabis and its extracts. Cannabinoids such as THC, CBD, and several others present in the cannabis plant matrix only exist in small quantities. This makes it unfit for use on an industrial scale especially in terms of the pharmaceutical use of the product.

Track 4. Medical Cannabis:

Medical cannabis, herbal drug derived from plants of the genus Cannabis that is used as part of the treatment for a specific symptom or disease. Although the term cannabis refers specifically to the plant genus, it is also used interchangeably with marijuana which describes the crude drug isolated from the plants’ leaves and flowers. One of the biggest medical benefits of cannabis is its link to fighting cancer. There is a good amount of evidence that shows cannabinoids can help fight cancer or at least certain types of it.

Track 5. Cannabis Strains:

Cannabis strains are organized into three primary types:

• Sativa
• Indica
• Hybrid.

The strain you choose depends on what effect you desire. As mentioned, cannabis has a range of medical uses, but some strains are better for certain conditions than others.

Endocannabinoids also called endogenous cannabinoids, are molecules made by your body. Endocannabinoids are crucial to bioregulation. The endocannabinoids play a very important role in the regulation of metabolism at systems and cellular levels.

Track 9. Preclinical Pharmacology:

Preclinical pharmacology and toxicological studies play an essential role for providing particulars to design clinical studies to determine whether the test compound is as efficacious and safe in humans as it was observed in animal studies. Study performed in preclinical setting includes determination of safety, efficacy, tolerability and toxicity for the test compound. These studies help to propose a safe and efficacious start-up dose for human studies.

Track 10. Cannabis Cultivation:

Cannabis cultivation is a term that refers to growing cannabis, either in a commercial facility or in a home garden. Cannabis cultivation is nothing more nor less than the growing of marijuana. The global cannabis cultivation market size was valued at USD 123.9 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.3% from 2020 to 2027.

According to Markets and Markets, the cannabis market is estimated to be valued at USD 20.5 billion in 2020 and is projected to reach USD 90.4 billion by 2026, recording a CAGR of 28.0%, in terms of value. It is witnessing significant growth due to increasing legalization of cannabis across various regions. Also, the growth of this market can also be attributed to the increasing awareness among consumers regarding health benefits of cannabis and its growing medical application.  Cannabis legalization is often viewed upon with dual perceptions wherein its legalization has been proven to be met with scepticism associated with possible abuse. Legalization of cannabis has allowed people to practice safe substance usage along with realizing its medicinal benefits. As a result of which, many countries are gradually legalizing the usage of cannabis across the globe. While most the countries across the globe have still not legalized the recreational use of cannabis, the approach to the usage and sales has been relaxed over the years.
